It was someone I follow on twitter who gave me the idea. She does the most amazing doodles and that got me thinking about tessallations and how much fun they can be. So today I have been googling and came across a few handy links. One is an interactive activity which is fun and this is another called Tessallation town.
I found a really handy teaching resource on tessallation. Along with some beautiful examples to inspire.

I popped along here from @liveotherwise blog carnival and Wow, ok I've never heard of tassellations! I *think* they look a lot of fun; they remind me of books I used to get as a kid - black and white outlines of random shapes that I used to colour in. The examples are inspiring for sure - thanks so much for sharing!

Those books full of patterns will indeed be tesselations. Learning is certainly more fun when you mix it with things the kids love such as art :)
